This article is designed to walk you through making sure the AKTA is in an Online and Ready state:
***ANY WORK ON THESE NEEDS TO BE COMMUNICATED TO THE LAB ASSISTANTS AND PI***
Check your cabling. The AKTA connects to the PC via NIC (Network Interface Card aka Ethernet Port). Make sure it is securely seated on the instrument and the desktop

Do not forget to make sure power is securely seated as well.
If everything is working properly, the AKTA's in 3380 will show:
If not, it will state "Offline".
After you have checked your cabling, you want to check the configuration of the Ethernet port. There will be multiple options when an AKTA instrument is involved as it communicates through Ethernet.
Go to the bottom-right of the desktop and right-click the network icon. Select Network and Internet Settings:
You will open up to the following page. Take note that there are two Ethernet options on this page. The one that says "No Internet" is the one going to the instrument. You will go and select Ethernet, to open the Ethernet adapters page.
This is how it SHOULD appear for the AKTA to be online. It it does not look like this it will probably be set by default to DHCP instead of Manual IP Assignment. If that is the case select Edit as shown below:
At the top of the page you will use the drop down to change from DHCP to Manual.
Use the Drop down menu to set it to Manual.
Once changed and you hit Save you will go back to this page:
The IP address needs to be 10.1.1.2 with a Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Do NOT put anything in Gateway or Preferred DNS as this device is only communicating with the PC. Then Select Save at the bottom left. If you did everything on this. The device should say "Ready" and "Online". When you open up Unicorn there should be no alerts as well.
***Make sure you work with a Lab assistant and communicate this before you do!***
If the device does not, then perform a hard power cycle by unseating the power cable from the instrument and reboot the PC as well.
