Connect to Wi-fi from Your Android Phone

There are two steps that are needed in order to connect your Android phone to the wireless network. It is important that you follow each step in order.

  1. Forget MED Wifi on Your Device
  2. Install the Certificate
  3. Configure your wifi connection

Forget MED Wifi on Your Device

If you have previously connected to FSUSecure, or FSUMEDSecure, using your Andriod phone, please choose the option to forget this network, so that no previously saved settings are present.

Install the Certificate

Navigate to this article using your phone first, as it will make it much easier to get the necessary file downloaded to your device

  1. Download the file AAACertificateServices.crt to the Downloads folder on your Android phone.
    1. Click the link at the bottom of the page in the "Attachments" section.

Configure Your Wi-Fi Connection

Open the Android app Settings. Once in Settings, tap Network & Internet.

Next, tap Internet:

You should now be looking at a list of Wi-Fi networks; tap on FSUSecure or FSUMEDSecure. You will need to configure your wi-fi to match the below settings to connect.

  • EAP method: PEAP
  • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • CA certificate: [the certificate you saved in the prior step]
  • Minimum TLS version: TLS v1.0
  • Online Certificate Status: Do not verify
  • Domain: med.ad.fsu.edu
  • Identity: Your Med ID in the form med\first.last.
  • Anonymous Identity: [leave blank]
  • Password: Your Med password

Once a successful connection is established, your Internet settings will show you connected to FSUSecure
