The College of Medicine, Office of Information Technology supports a plotter to be used for large scale, official printing such as posters and signs. We have 42", 36", and 24" wide paper available, including satin photo glossy and heavyweight matte paper. The maximum size poster we can print is 42"x72" either landscape or portrait.
- What format should I use?
Please use the following programs to create your poster:
1. Publisher(PUB)
2. Or for more advanced posters Photoshop or InDesign (PSD,INDD)
We recommend uploading the poster as a PDF file type to preserve formatting.
If the original file is too big to upload (over ~20mb) then please bring the file down to IT (Room G102) on either a CD or a Flash Drive, or reach out to us to coordinate sending it a different way.
We strongly recommend that you use our poster templates as a starting point.
If you are creating your own poster from scratch please be sure to use the official FSU seals. We also offer design help and will create your poster for you if you request it.
- When should I submit my poster for printing?
The sooner the better! You should submit your poster no later than 5 BUSINESS days before your need by date. If submitted with less than 5 business days notice, we cannot guarantee that your poster will be printed in time.
- How do I submit a poster to be printed?
Please use the "Submit Your Poster" button on this page, then fill out the form with the appropriate information.
- Do you do any mounting or framing?
No, we currently do not have the capability to mount or frame posters or pictures, although we will be happy to advise you on the best way to mount or frame your submissions.
- Is there a maximum file size upload limit for my poster?
Yes. 20mb is the advertised upload limit in MEDlink. Sometimes larger files may allow you to upload them still. If you have a larger file, contact the Service Desk or bring the file to G102 on a flash drive or cd
- How can I delete a poster submission?
Follow the instructions in this article to find your poster submission ticket. Once you open the ticket, you can click the "Withdraw Request" button.
- Can I print personal images on the printer, even if I pay?
No, we currently do not accept payment for personal posters.
- What type of posters/pictures can I print?
All documents that are printed must be related in some way to medical education/research or the mission of the College.
- Can I submit a PowerPoint even though it's not listed as an accepted file type?
Yes, although we ask that in the future you use Publisher. We understand that many users have older templates in PowerPoint that they update, and therefore may not want to start from scratch in another program. Please be advised though that PowerPoint is not made for poster design and has many limitations, compared to Publisher which is meant for Poster design.
- I would like to print photos for my suites like other suites have done. How can I do this?
The photos we print come from the Official Photo Archive put together by Communications. They are preapproved, reviewed and high quality so no editing is necessary. Pick out the photos that you would like. Your department will have to purchase the frames.
