MEDNet Upgrade to Office 365/SharePoint Online

Who?

  • All current MEDNet users are affected by these changes.

Why?

  • Our current MEDNet site will be deprecated in 2023 and we need to move to a better platform
  • You can use O365 MEDNet with any browser

What does this mean for me?

  • Over the next year, your current MEDNet site(s) will be moved.
    • Depending on how your current site is used, it will be recreated as either a Teams site or a new O365 MEDNet site.
  • As your current sites are moved and updated, we will be in a “hybrid” situation, using both MEDNet sites at the same time.
    • It will be important to use the navigation provided on both sites and be prepared to log in and authenticate to the O365 site with your FSUID.
    • If you leave the O365 MEDNet site open in your default browser after logging in, you won’t need to constantly log in while moving between the 2 sites.
  • All electronic forms in the current site will be re-written, updated and moved to the O365 MEDNet site.
    • As the new version of e-forms are published
      • You may need to log in and authenticate with your FSUID
      • You will need to agree to use SharePoint and Outlook the first time you use them
  • All links in the current site will be changing
    • Your bookmarks will need to be updated as the information is moved.

When?

  • Phase 1 - May 16, 2022
    • The current Home Page will be changed to display information about the upgrade
    • Student sites and forms (except for calendars)
    • OIT site
    • ICU site
    • Faculty Development Training Modules
    • Some Committee sites
    • Policy/Procedure/Forms site
    • Some electronic forms
  • Not part of the Student site upgrade in Phase 1
    • Med Student Year 1 and Year 2 calendars
    • PA Student Year 1 and Year 2 calendars
  • Phase 2 – throughout the summer of 2022
    • Room Reservation form and all calendars – including M1, M2, PA1 and PA2
    • Remaining electronic forms
    • Remaining Committee sites
    • Department sites moved to Teams sites
  • Phase 3 – starts fall/winter 2022
    • F&A Sites
    • FMPP Sites

If challenged, how do I log in?

  • Use your FSUID@fsu.edu username and password.
  • You may need to authenticate with Duo Mobile

I don’t get challenged, but I am getting access denied

  • Check how you are logged in to O365
  • Only FSUID@fsu.edu accounts have access to O365 MEDNet
  • Students tend to log in with their @my.fsu.edu accounts
    • NOTE:  FSU is upgrading all student @my.fsu.edu accounts to @fsu.edu accounts in May
  • You can log out and then log back in with the right account

  • Try using a different browser
    • Using a different browser than normal forces the log in screen to open
  • You can be logged in to O365 with more than one browser with different accounts
